This move hits the target anywhere from 2-5 times per use. There is a 37.5% chance that it will hit 2 or 3 times(respectively) and a 12.5% chance that it will hit 4 or 5 times (also respectively). Every hit of this move can potentially be critical. This move will continue if it breaks a Substitute before the duration of the move is over. If this move activates a Focus Band, Focus Sash or the Sturdy Ability before the duration is over, subsequent hits will cause the defending Pokémon to faint (the target will be protected from all hits of this move if it used Endure however). With each hit, this move can also trigger items that require the user to attack (e.g. King's Rock). Bide, Mirror Coat, Metal Burst and the Life Orb will only acknowledge the first hit of this move.
This move can also hit targets in the semi-invulnerable stages of Fly, Bounce, Hover and Sky Drop. In a triple battle, this move may target anyone other than the user. |
